Lowepro Flipside 300 Backpack (Artic Blue) Review
I bought this pack after a huge amount of research into all different makes/models/sizes/configurations to carry a Sony vx2100, a Rode videomic, tripod, & the odd extra tape & battery. Settled on this one because the packs I found that were 'made for' dv cams are all too bulky/heavy/or expensive for a smallish woman on an artist's budget. I LOVE THIS PACK. It exactly fits the equipment mentioned, is light and easy to carry around the sports/outdoor events I shoot, & low-impact if going into, say, a theatre to shoot an event. Handles, straps, zips all in the right places. Great padding. Water/rain resistant (peace of mind!) I like that the camera side rests against my back - extra protection. The only reason it is 4 stars instead of 5 is that I would have loved for the side pocket to be slightly larger and easier to get into so that I could keep an extra tape & battery there instead of loose in the main compartment. Once you put a camcorder & mic in there there's not a lot of room for anything else, despite the handy velcro'd dividers and the carry pouch for extra stuff (made for dslr, not dv cams so the pouch doesn't fit). Other than that - a TERRIFIC pack for the money.

Bad fit - David Gray -
I recently came back from hiking on skyline drive where I slipped on a rock and almost broke my expensive camera. Time for hands free camera case! I just wanted a small case to carry my camera, a few accessories and a water bottle. I choose the 300 because of its size, waist belt and exterior water bottle container. The package arrived almost overnight. Wow. Amazon how do you do it. The chief complaint about the zipper not going down far enough was not an issue. I could easily access everything. My problem was fit. I'm a big guy 6'4' and 220. I had a hard time putting the backpack on because it was too tight on my shoulders. The waist strap was narrow and uncomfortable. The straps did not have locks to control the excess strap after it was adjusted.
iPad fits! - V -
This bag offers it all, security, conferrable during long hikes and my iPad sits on the camera without moving around inside. The iPad does not fit in the sleeve nor makes any contact to my 450d and the lenses. That way, i can import the photos into the iPad, do minor edits and e-mail them out on the spot. Other people have great review on the pros and cons of this bag so i will not go into them.
This bag fits me well.
